An experienced and industry accredited communications consultant, David has spent more than 20 years supporting some of the North East’s biggest brands and organisations to plan, develop and deliver strategic marketing and communications campaigns.
Having worked in-house, as part of an agency, and as a freelance practitioner, David brings a wealth of experience across a wide range of sectors: including arts and culture, heritage, public sector, commercial, and charity.
David began his career at a Newcastle-based PR agency working on campaigns for brands including O’Neill, Nigel Cabourn, and Nike. He then moved into the arts and culture sector, spending four years managing the press office for Theatre Royal Newcastle. David spent 10 years working for destination marketing agency, NewcastleGateshead Initiative, where he led communications for the city’s events programme, which included the London 2012 Olympics, Rugby World Cup 2015, as well as a series of annual cultural events across Newcastle and Gateshead.
He established his freelance consultancy business, Ludlow Street, in 2014 and during that time has worked for a diverse range of clients including, the North East Combined Authority, North East Local Enterprise Partnership, Invest North East England, Natural England, Museums Northumberland, Saddle Skedaddle, and Urban Green Newcastle.
David holds a CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and regularly invests in his professional development.
